Our Wedding Journal

~Ideas~
I see our wedding as a collective outlet for creativity and love as I wanted to incorporate as many as DIY and small touches as possible.
I dreamt of eloping to Europe, getting married in historical chapel in Italy followed by a casual but intimate soiree.

Out of respect to our parents, this eloping dream needless to say didn't materialize and instead we ended up with a small happy gathering of 72 very close relatives and friends (local and overseas).

~Dates~
Being a flower lover, 'when' is a big question to me when planning our wedding. I envisioned it to be surrounded by flowers. Emphasized by SO's 'at least a year' planning time we set it inSeptember 2011 - spring in Sydney :) and in time where ALL my favorite flowers are in season.
Nothing beats the glorious blue sky and warm sun...

~Ceremony~
There wasn't any discussion as to where we should get married as my SO pretty much made his mind and didn't allow any diversion to it :)
It has to be St Mark's Drummoyne - where he was baptized, attended his primary school and where his aunt/Godmother got married.
Built in 1901, St Mark's boasts that beautiful federation red bricks.

~Reception Venue~
Both SO and I love period architecture. LOVE it! Hence our home is an Edwardian abode and my (no choice) agreeing to get married in St Mark's.
When it comes to deciding where to hold the reception, TTR QVB ticks all the boxes.

~Photographer~
Now that all big and major questions have been decided, comes next the (other) most important question (for me): which PHOTOGRAPHER?
I have to be honest here. After the excitement of getting engaged subsides and planning wedding mode is switched on, the first thing I researched was the photographers :) I stalked countless wedding blogs where I found Aaron Delesie's works.
Mesmerized, captivated, inspired, in awe, excited - were some of my reactions when seeing his works.
